Dr. Jeffrey Smith was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He attended Baylor University for his undergraduate studies and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1995. Dr. Smith then moved to North Carolina where he completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine from 1995-2001. Dr. Smith is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His special areas of interest include colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and hepatobiliary disorders.

Outside of the office, Dr. Smith’s interests include spending time with his wife and three children, golfing, several other sports and outdoor activities, and getting back to the North Carolina beaches whenever possible.
