Dr. Clifton Cox attended medical school and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He then moved on to become Chief Resident of general surgery for a year at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Cox did his colon and rectal surgery training and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

 

Dr. Cox is board certified in colon and rectal surgery and general surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha, the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and the Tarrant County Medical Society.

 

With several specialties to take into consideration, Dr. Cox says he chose to specialize in colorectal surgery because he “recognized that the application of skill, effort, and technology could significantly impact patient well-being.”  Outside of the office, Dr. Cox’s hobbies include cycling, zymurgy, history, fiction, computers, exercise, hiking, and playing foosball.
