Dr. Jody Houston was born in Long Beach, California and grew up in Paris, Texas. He received his bachelors degree from Austin College before attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Houston did his internal medicine training and gastroenterology fellowship at the Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center program in Washington, DC. He spent a year as the critical care triage physician and attending physician for the intermediate care unit at Washington Hospital Center prior to entering his fellowship.

 

He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Houston is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has a special clinical interest in colon cancer screening and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. In his spare time he enjoys cycling, reading, traveling and spending time with his wife and young son.
